Implementation Roadmap

Developing a Solid Manhattan Associates
Implementation Roadmap (i.e. Phase Zero)

4SiGHT's Manhattan Associates Implementation Roadmap is a detailed plan and guide outlining the steps in implementing the software solution. It is a critical tool to help you identify all components essential to your project, dependencies, timelines, and the resources required. It is a series of tangible deliverables defining the implementation and rollout requirements when deploying the Manhattan Associates software. It establishes a clear picture of the project's Total Cost of Deployment (TCD) by identifying all resource requirements and levels of commitment (schedule and budget) from all parties involved.

With decades of experience to draw upon, 4SiGHT experts have developed an Implementation Roadmap methodology to guide your Manhattan Associates implementation to a successful finish. This process has been proven through hundreds of implementations, and we review and update it regularly to incorporate new lessons learned. The result is a highly adaptive and effective tool to navigate all aspects of your project.

To properly support your Manhattan Associates implementation, you must identify and document detailed requirements before beginning the design phase. 4SiGHT has a standard process for capturing requirements, including operations and IT requirements. 4SiGHT will evaluate the current state of the organization’s processes and systems to determine the scope and requirements of the implementation.

Key elements of 4SiGHT’s Implementation Roadmap:

  1. Formalize project scope
  2. Develop a project organization chart
  3. Define roles and responsibilities for all involved parties
  4. Define project governance to manage the project
  5. Develop a fully integrated master project plan
  6. Integrate Manhattan RPM™ (Results-driven Performance) Methodology
  7. Develop complete Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) for all professional services
  8. Develop detailed business requirements in preparation for the design

Identify all functional components to be deployed within each process area & define what functionality you intend to deploy. For example, for receiving in WMS, define what functionality you plan to deploy to support all receiving (e.g. Single- Step Putaway, Multi-Step Putaway, Pallet Breakdown, Cross-Docking, QC Inspection, Trailer Inspection, Vendor Compliance, Transfers, Returns, etc.). Do the same for all applications and features you are deploying.

The Implementation Roadmap allows you to:

  • Monitor, manage, and plan the execution required to ensure the project’s success.
  • Leverage a proven methodology and documentation that will drive the deployment of a successful project.
  • Understand the resource requirements for executing a successful startup.
  • Document those activities needed by vendors, third parties, and various departments within your organization.
  • Define the project’s organizational structure and the lines of communication.
  • Define the business requirements of the project.
  • Set realistic expectations.
  • Provide individual accountability and facilitates solid scheduling.
